Ilepete community, the collation centre for Ugbo Ward 3, was also reportedly attacked by armed thugs, who engaged in sporadic shooting at Ilowo to scare voters away.

Also at Ute Ward 12, Unit 6 in Ose Constituency, armed thugs launched an attack, snatching electoral materials and disappearing with them.

INEC also confirmed that there was no voting at Itekule, in Ondo East Local Government, as sustained gunshots kept voters indoors through out the accreditation and voting period.

Agbaje told one of our correspondents on the telephone on Saturday that INEC had received information about the disruptions across the state.

He said the commission had taken a decision to reschedule the elections in the affected areas, particularly areas where elections did not take place at all.

The REC added, “We have the reports already and we are waiting for the collation officers to finish their work before we can take a final decision.

“If the votes affected in the area are substantial, we will reschedule the election. If we have enough ballot papers after today, we can schedule a bye election for tomorrow(Sunday).

“If we don’t have enough ballot papers, we will just wait for Abuja to supply us the materials and then conduct a bye-election at the same time in all the affect areas.”

Please Save Us From Dangote, CementProducers Beg Buhari

Change must affect all areas of Nigeria, no more impunity. Cement manufacturers under the aegis of Cement Producers Association of Nigeria, CPAN, have called on President-Elect, Muhammadu Buhari to assist them in fighting corruption in the sector allegedly perpetrated by a cabal “that has been dictating cement policies for personal interests.”
In a tacit reference to popular businessman and President of Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, they specifically pleaded with Buhari to assist in reducing the price of cement from N2,200 to N1,000 per bag.
This appeal when considered, CPAN said, will be the first dividend of change for all Nigerians.
The Chairman of CPAN, Prince David Iweta, in a letter to Buhari dated March 3congratulating him on his
victory in the recently-concluded general elections and obtained by journalists on Wednesday in Abuja,
said cement should be allowed to be imported into Lagos, Warri and Calabar.
He said, “This cabal makes abnormal annual profit in the region of N200 billion from cement alone for the
past six years while same company partnered with the Federal Government to suspend cement import permit granted by late President Musa Yar’Adua to six companies one each from each of the geo-political zones owing to late President Yar’Adua’s fairness, equity and justice style of governance to guarantee that cement sell at N1.000  per bag to Nigerians.
“We wish to use this medium to appeal to you and your government at inauguration to declare a change
of price of cement from N2,200 per bag to N1,000 per bag. This will serve as the first dividend of change
which the people of Nigeria voted for. The cement industry after the death of late President Musa Yar’Adua has witnessed the worst height of corruption and injustice for the past six years. “It may interest the General to know that Nigeria is the country with the highest price of cement in the world. Why? It is worthy of mention that countries that have attained self sufficiency in cement production all over the world sell cement at N500 per bag. But in Nigeria where the Federal Government has claimed success in the cement industry, net exporter of cement is selling the commodity at N2,200 per bag.
“But not a bag is exported since 2012 as claimed. Why? It is a known fact that all West Africa countries, East, North and South Africa sell cement under N1,000 per bag; but in Nigeria, it is selling for N2,200. Why? new foreign direct investors are barred from venturing into the Nigeria cement industry since the past six years. So that cement price will remain high. Why?”

Disregard APC’s False Alert’, PDP UrgesLagosians

PDP National Publicity Secretary,Olisa Metuh Tasks INEC, Security Agencies On Free and Fair Polls Chuks Okocha in Abuja The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has urged Lagosians to ignore the tensions and false alarm being raised by the All Progressives Congress (APC) over allegations that it is planning to rig the Lagos state governorship election.
In a statement by PDP National Publicity Secretary, Olisa Metuh, the party said, "We totally condemn this unwarranted and unnecessary tension being created by the APC in Lagos state a day before the elections. The APC must desist from its propaganda, lies and false alarms especially bearing in mind that it did not win the presidential election on account of such. Nigerians are no longer in the mood for such politics as they have since moved ahead in celebration of the deepening of our democracy by the PDP-led administration.
"The PDP successfully nurtured democracy in the last sixteen years with attendant benefits to the people. Unfortunately, concerns are already heightening that the APC may not sustain this legacy given its disreputable disposition to national issues and ceaseless resort to propaganda and deceit.
"We are aware that the APC leader and President- elect, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari has gone to about
12 states meeting and campaigning for his party’s candidates and wonder why the APC should fret about President Goodluck Jonathan’s meeting with our candidates in Lagos.
"President Jonathan has with the 2015 general elections. proven beyond all doubts that he is a true democrat committed to free, fair and credible elections, a fact for which he has continued to receive accolades from well-meaning Nigerians and the international community.
"Finally, we call on Lagosians to disregard this latest false alert and come out enmasse on Saturday to exercise their constitutionally guaranteed right. In the same vein, we charge
INEC and security forces to ensure that the elections are free, fair and credible not only in Lagos but also in other states of the federation."

The government, in the statement, also appealed to politicians to call their supporters to order so that the elections would be conducted peacefully and in accordance with the laid down rules and regulations.
It said the government would not hesitate to deal with anyone or group of people who would want to disrupt the peaceful conduct of the elections.
According to the statement, the call is part of efforts to ensure a peaceful conduct of the April 11 governorship and state House of Assembly elections in the state.
“As a responsible government, we will not condone any act of hooliganism from any quarter, to ensure that the peace being enjoyed in the state is not compromised.
